1st tee, a slight dog-leg to the left. Called The Dell it is 287 yards from the white tee (281 yards from the yellow tee, and 281 from the winter mat), is a par 4 and the stroke index is 16.

All golfers at Woodford must wear a significant item of clothing (e.g. shirt, jumper, trousers) which is bright red — either scarlet or pillar box red — to conform with Corporation of London rules. Golfers must also not wear T-shirts, jeans, trainers or sports shoes on the course.
