The 18th hole

The 18th hole (128 yards from the yellow tee and 161 yards from the winter mat) is called Sunset. The tee is well to the left of the 9th tee and is close by the tees for the 2nd/11th hole. It is a par 3 with a stroke index of 15. Golfers need either to clear the tall trees in the foreground or manage to shoot under the branches to reach the two-tier 9th/18th green. The 18th tee is not in play for competitions; instead the 173-yard 9th tee is used on both circuits of the course.

Red alert

All golfers at Woodford must wear a significant item of clothing (e.g. shirt, jumper, trousers) which is bright red — either scarlet or pillar box red — to conform with Corporation of London rules. Golfers must also not wear T-shirts, jeans, trainers or sports shoes on the course.
